Meet & Greet

FREE – A 15 – 30 minute session to meet with me in person, see my play therapy space and determine whether this will be a fit for the both of us.

Intake & Counselling Session

After completing a meet & greet and determining that it is a good fit for everybody, an hour and a half intake appointment is scheduled with the parent of the child to review the history of concerns, presenting issue, and impact on daily life and goals for our time together. Sometimes this just takes an hour sometimes up to an hour and a half.

In the case of separated or divorced parents, both parents must agree and consent to treatment.

After completing an intake appointment, individual counselling appointments are scheduled. For play therapy, I let the child determine their comfort level with the parent being in the room or not. We gradually work towards the parent leaving and the child having time on their own. It is helpful for parents to return 15 minutes prior to the end of the scheduled time to be part of our closing of the session.

$90 per 50 minute session.

Payment Method

Payment is collected at the end of each counselling session by cash, cheque, e transfer or credit card. Should you wish to pay by credit card my online booking system will email you a link that is sent along with your invoice. If you prefer paying by cheque please make it payable to Megan Vandersluys. I also accept email money transfer. Invoices and receipts are provided via email for your records and include my counsellor registration information on them for extended health claims.

MSP Coverage

You may have been referred by your doctor and you may be wondering whether this qualifies you for MSP coverage. Unfortunately, counsellors are not governed under the Health Professions Act and do not receive Health Care funding for our services.

Financial Assistance

I am an approved provider with the Crime Victim Assistance program. You may also be reimbursed by the Crime Victims Assistance Program if you are eligible for benefits by the Program.

I am not contracted with any Employee and Family Assistance Programs.

Cancellation Policy

If you are unable to attend a session, please make sure you cancel at least 24 hours beforehand. Otherwise, you will be charged for the full rate of the session.
