You thought everything was going to be okay, but the kids are still struggling. You’re not sure if you should get help, and if you do, you’re worried that it’ll become a bigger problem. You’re worried that other people will think you’re over reacting to the situation. You’re feeling stuck, and not sure which direction to go in.

One thing you know, is that if things continue this way, the problems aren’t going to go away on their own. It’s okay to get help, to talk to someone about what you’re concerned about and together we can figure out a plan. Whether it’s meeting with just you, or your child or a combination of both we can figure out what’s happening for everyone and start making some sense of things. Life isn’t always easy. Sometimes, we need a little bit of help to work through some of life’s more challenging problems.

You might be initially hesitant to seek out help and support, but when you do, you will feel a weight lifted off your shoulders that you are taking a courageous first step towards getting to a better place for you, your children and your family.

Why me

I love to help kids make sense of big feelings and big changes in their life. Play therapy is a special way to help little and big kids express themselves, well, through play! They are limited verbally, they’re not as able to articulate what they’re upset or worried or angry about like adults. But when they play, they can get it out, they can work on making sense of it, and we can work together to heal it. Whether your child is highly sensitive, anxious, or having big emotions that you aren’t sure how to handle at home, play therapy is a way to help children become aware of and make sense of their big feelings and become more regulated.

I also love to work with step parents. Whether you are a stepmom or dad and you’re feeling like you’re at the end of your rope, or maybe you feel like you have NO influence in your own home and are walking on eggshells all the time. You might find yourself starting to avoid your stepchildren out of fear of doing or saying the wrong thing.

Or maybe your relationship is getting serious and you’re not sure how all kids involved are going to handle the changes, how can we handle these transitions smoothly for everyone. And sometimes you feel bad, like you’re already put them through so much and you feel guilty for adding more and need help processing the decisions you’re faced with.

You thought you had this blended family thing down but now new problems have come up and you’re totally taken by surprise! As a step-mom and part of a blended family, I get that the dynamics of a step-family can totally be challenging for everyone!

I’m here to work with you – whether you need to vent, come up with some new strategies to try, strengthen your relationship, set boundaries within your family relationships.

One thing is for sure, you will never feel judged or shamed for coming in. I’m here to elevate you to help you see new possibilities for you and your family.
