You thought everything was going to be okay, but the kids are still a challenge. You’re not sure if you should get help, and if you do, you’re worried that it’ll become a bigger problem. You’re worried that other people will think you’re overreacting to the situation. You’re feeling stuck, and not sure which direction to go in.
One thing you know, is that if things continue this way, the problems aren’t going to go away on their own. It’s okay to get help, to talk to someone about what you’re concerned about and together we can figure out a plan. Whether it’s meeting with just you, or your child or a combination of both we can figure out what’s happening for everyone and start making some sense of things. Life isn’t always easy.
You might be initially hesitant to seek out help and support, but when you do, you will feel a weight lifted off your shoulders that you are taking a courageous first step towards getting to a better place for you, your children and your family.
I love to help kids make sense of big feelings and big changes in their life. Play therapy is a special way to help little and big kids express themselves, well, through play! Kids are not as able to articulate what they’re upset or worried or angry about like adults. But when they play, they can get it out. We can work on making sense of it, and we can work together to find new ways to make sense of it. Whether your child is highly sensitive, anxious, or having big emotions that you aren’t sure how to handle at home, play therapy is a way to help children become aware of and make sense of their big feelings and become more regulated.
One Thing Is For Sure, You Will Never Feel Judged Or Shamed For Coming In
